Community Involvement

Since our birth in June of 1999 The Winthrop Marketplace has been, and continues to be, actively involved in the community. From cooking and donating food for Beach Day, to preparing fruit and cheese platters for the Harbor Cruise and other Chamber events, giving candy and goodies to the kids at the Halloween Haunt, donating food and gift certificates to many places of Worship and sports organizations in town, to donating hundreds on dollars to the Senior Center for their yearly raffle, The Winthrop Marketplace is always first in line to help the people and organizations of Winthrop.

Marc Wallerce is an active board member of The Winthrop Chamber of Commerce, sitting on many boards within the Chamber. Along with Marcís great enthusiasm for his family, friends, physical fitness and helping others, his knowledge of Winthrop and itís demographics is a great asset not only to his business but to the town of Winthrop itself.

In our nine years of business we have employed well over 300 employees. Out of these 300, most of which are part-time local high school students, seven have been with us since inception: Kevin Miccichi-Store Manager, Brian Macrina-Store Manager, Natalie Campbell-cashier and Karen Laurino-Bakery Supervisor. Frank Grillo-Meat Manager, Antonietta Polcaro-Deli Manager, Theppi Carideo-Front end Supervisor and Robby Pumphret-Administration have been with us over five years.

With the crazy economic times we are now facing, The Winthrop Marketplace will stay actively involved in our community Ė by keeping a warm, clean friendly business offering fresh products and services on a daily basis.
